The Annual Appeal
Tuition and fees account for less than 25 percent of the School's operating budget. Gifts to the Annual Fund are 100% tax-deductible and allow HSA to target funding where it's needed: to support the day-to-day operations of the School and ensure that the lights are on and the doors remain open.
Gifts in Honor or Memory
A Tribute or Memorial Gift is a meaningful way to celebrate someone whose life has been enriched by the performing and visual arts or to recognize a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion.
Matching Gifts
Many companies offer their employees, spouses and retirees a matching gift benefit, which can double or even triple your gift to HSA. Please check with your employer's human resource office to find out if your company has a matching gift program and request a form. The completed matching gift form may be mailed to:

Bequests
Bequests to HSA ensure future support for gifted students with lasting recognition for the donor.
Including The Harlem School of the Arts in your will is an easy and effective way to help ensure that talented young people receive the training needed to become tomorrow's artistic visionaries. You may make a bequest to HSA by preparing a new will or by adding a codicil to your existing one. Wills are revocable, and may be altered as life circumstances change. It is also possible to devise a will to ensure that charitable gifts remain in proportion to provisions for family members and loved ones. To make certain that your exact intentions are carried out, wills and codicils should be prepared by or with the help of your legal advisor.
For information about making a bequest to HSA, please call the Development Dept., at (212) 926-4100 ext. 309.
In–kind Gifts
An In-kind contribution is a wonderful way to help HSA reduce operating expenses while providing the supplies or services needed to support our students and operations. HSA accepts non-cash donations such as instruments, goods or services donated as auction items or incentive gifts for Radiothon and Spring Gala events, sheet music, art supplies, dancewear, costumes and other arts-related items.
Also consider that your haute couture fashions, artwork and other collectible items can be sold through major New York City auction houses or resale boutiques, with the proceeds designated to The Harlem School of the Arts. |
