Curriculum
The College Prep Theater program offers intensive study of acting for students ages 12–19. Admission to all classes is by audition. Students study a variety of physical and vocal techniques, and engage in ongoing sessions involving scene study and creation of character. Playwriting, acting
for film and field seminars in which the company attends plays and visits museums and other cultural institutions are also offered on a rotating basis, particularly during the summer sessions. College Prep students comprise an
acting company and all company members are expected to participate in at least two stage productions per year. Extra rehearsal time outside of the regular class schedule is required.
College Prep Theater tuition: $710/28 weeks plus registration fee and other applicable fees.
The Theater track is designed to provide students, both beginning and advanced, with a disciplined and exciting experience in the creative work of the theater artist. Emphasis is placed upon broadening the young actor’s
cultural awareness, teaching respect and appreciation for all art and culture, and providing challenging performance opportunities, ranging from classic to contemporary plays. Students will develop and maintain the skills necessary to pursue a college education and professional career in the theater.
