Dance
Musical Theater Dance
Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Tuition: $305 per semester
Many classically trained performers run into a wall when auditioning. Broadway shows don't just want dancers, they want dancers who can sing. Likewise, casting directors aren't just looking for actors, they are looking for actors who can dance. This class will prepare students for the audition process, including attire, attitude, and techniques. As the weeks progress, students will learn scenes from different shows and a 16 bar selection of music that can be used for musical theater auditions.
Music Video Dance Class
Tuesdays 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Instructor: Keith Lewis
Tuition: $305 per semester
This class replicates the dance moves seen in music videos by the performing artist of today. The instructor will present a popluar music video to the class, and then teach the same dance steps performed in the video. Students will be taught intermediate warm-up exercises, stretching techniques, as well as strength building calisthenics.
Yoga Flow (Vinyasa)

Originated in ancient India, Yoga typically means 'union' between the mind, body and spirit. It involves the practice of physical postures and poses, along with breath. The ultimate aim of practicing Yoga is to create a balance between the body and the mind and to attain self-enlightenment. Yoga is good for increasing flexibility and balance, relieving stress and relaxing.

Film History: African Americans in Film/TV

This 14 week course is a review of the most important films, directors, and actors of the early 21st century, with a close emphasis on African American contributions. Taught by Charles E. Gerber, the course refers to archival film footage and source materials to examine how history, art, and media collide.
Theatrical Dance I
Ages 10-14 Fridays 4:00-5:00 p.m.
This course will study a number of dance styles used in musical theater and dance theater, including aspects of street jazz, funk, and ballroom. Students will discover storytelling through choreography of musical theater, looking at the work of choreographers past and present. Theatrical Dance I takes an elementary look at
Theatrical Dance II
Ages 15-18 Fridays 5:00-6:00 p.m.
This secondary course follows Theatrical Dance I. Theatrical Dance II centers on more advanced storytelling through choreography, studying modern dance styles and choreography seen in today’s Broadway shows. Students will study a history of theatrical choreography, and combine music with performance to create new scenes and dances out of established pieces.
Visual Arts
Sculpture Design

If you already have experience with sculpture or would like to learn to translate 2D characters into 3D forms this class is for you! Students learn how to use cardboard as a sculptural material by cutting, bending, stacking, adhering, and painting to create amazing 3D sculptures.
Made In Harlem

This course explores the cultural trends and styles that distinguish Harlem and Harlem artists from the Master’s. Working in a variety of drawing, painting techniques, students will use the inspiration of the past and present to create work that will be showcased in a final exhibition.
Color Photography

Materials fee: $60 per semester
A intermediate course for the Photographer who is familiar with the basic image making process, students are introduced to the principles of color photography, color theory, as well as the exploration of image manipulations, printing and presentation techniques. Course requires a digital camera.
