The Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) offers its families the flexibility of 4 different payment plans, allowing the convenience of paying your tuition in full or in installments over the year. Regardless of your chosen payment option, the first tuition payment is due by September 7, 2013 and all tuition for the 2013-14 year must be paid in full no later than April 15, 2014. Tuition can be paid as follows:

1. Pay tuition in full - 1 single payment (5% discount for paying tuition in full by August 15)

2. Pay tuition in 2 payments (per year or term)
• Fall 2012 due Sept 7 & Oct 15
• Spring 2013 due Jan 15 & Mar 15
• Full Year due Aug 15 & Dec 15

3. Pay tuition in 4 payments - Full Year Only
(Includes a surcharge; requires autopay enrollment)
• Payment #1 due Sept 7
• Payment #2 due Oct 15
• Payment #3 due Jan 15
• Payment #4 due Mar 15

4. Pay tuition in 8 payments - Full Year Only
(Includes a surcharge; requires autopay enrollment)

HSA requires an automatic payment option when choosing 4 payments or more. To set up the autopay option, fill out the payment plan agreement in your Enrollment Welcome Packet or call the front desk at (212)926-4100 ext. 300 or the Registrar at ext. 304.

Financial aid is awarded solely on the basis of economic need without regard for race, religion, nationality, ethnicity or sexual orientation. All financial aid information is confidential and an applicant’s financial need does not affect their acceptance to any of our programs.


If you are interested in applying for financial aid for 2013-14, you must submit a completed financial aid application and HSA Registration Form by Friday, July 19, 2013. Please read the following carefully and complete by the deadline:

Private School Aid Service (PSAS) is an independent financial aid assessment company. Please note that PSAS charges a non-refundable fee of $25.00 to all applicants. Once your application is complete, PSAS will evaluate your financial need and make a recommendation to HSA. If your application is incomplete or has been improperly submitted, a representative from PSAS will contact you directly. Submitting a financial aid application does not guarantee that a tuition grant will be awarded.

2. Submit a completed an HSA registration form by Friday, July 19, 2013. Only full-year registrants will be considered for financial aid. We are not accepting applications for one semester. There is a maximum financial aid award of up to $2,500 for each eligible, full-year registrant. Please note we cannot accept any HSA registration forms for financial aid applicants after the deadline.

3. By August 15, 2013, provided you have fully completed Steps 1 & 2 above, HSA will send out financial aid notification letters will be sent to all applicants indicating financial aid award amount, if any, and an invoice indicating your tuition balance due, if applicable.

HSA Prep Scholarships
HSA Prep students are awarded full scholarships annually. Auditions are held in May. Scholarships are awarded based on an audition and/or portfolio review by departmental committees. Students receiving Prep scholarships will receive written notification of acceptance to the program. All scholarship recipients are required to have an excellent attendance record (no more than one unexcused absence), perform work study hours and pay an administration fee of $175. These hours are assigned at the discretion of the Prep Program Director. Pre-professional Dance Program partial dance scholarship by audition or invitation only.


The Registration Office desk will close at 6pm this week, March 13 - 19.

Due to the weather and late announcement from NYC Public Schools that after-school programs are canceled, all HSA group classes and private lessons are now canceled today, February 13, and the administrative office will close at 6PM.
