Disney's The Lion King at Harlem School of the Arts

HSA's Musical Theatre Project
THE LION KING

The Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) is proud to announce its Musical Theatre Project for 2012, an extraordinary partnership with the Disney Theatrical Group to create a children’s version of Disney’s landmark musical phenomenon: THE LION KING.

The project will be a collaboration between the students and the teaching artists, born out of the students’ educational experiences in a series of workshops culminating in a performance at the HSA Theatre. Special guests from the original production will be involved in this project.

Selected HSA students will explore African & Asian cultures and world performance traditions celebrated in the award-winning stage production including storytelling, music, dance, mask making and much more. If your child is interested in designing or performing the first-ever children’s production of The Lion King, register for one of the classes below.

Please note: Student performers must first audition, student designers may simply sign up for the age-appropriate classes.
